The passenger vehicle enroute Kupwara turned turtle near Furkan top near Kralpora, resulting in death of a person and injuries to seven others, a police spokesman said.
He said the injured have been rushed to hospital.
In another accident, five-year-old Mehreen Fayaz was killed last evening when she was hit by a car outside her residence at Drusoo in Pampore area in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
The driver of the car and his wife were also injured in the accident and were shifted to hospital, the spokesman said.
