30-year-old Pranjal Chaudhry, the son of an inspector with Moradabad Local Intelligence Unit, and his friend were on their way to Mussoorie when their car grazed a Scorpio at a petrol pump last night leading to an argument, police said today.
Some youths known to the Scorpio driver arrived at the scene armed with knives and guns and attacked Pranjal and his friend Bablu, Superintendent of Police (City), Om Prakash Singh said today.
After attacking the two, the armed youths fled from the spot firing in the air.
Some locals rushed the duo to a nearby hospital where Pranjal was declared brought dead.
Police said that a case has been registered and a manhunt launched to nab the attackers.
