According to police, the incident took place this evening when a fight broke out between the families of Mishra's daughter and her neighbours, who live in Vaishali locality in Dabri area.
The fight broke out over the installation of a mobile tower on the terrace of the property of one of the families, to which the other party objected and allegedly thrashed the labourers working on the fixture, police said.
"When the police reached the spot, a woman there, and later a few others, alleged that Mishra misbehaved with them. An ACP-rank officer was also sent to the spot," a senior official said.
Denying allegations of misbehaviour with women in the locality, Mishra said "it was I who called up the police to report the matter. I did not confront any woman here and such allegations are entirely baseless."
