Outstanding power bills in Haryana at Rs 6,623 cr

The outstanding power bills of consumers in Haryana stands at Rs 6,623 crore as of May 2016, state Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
The outstanding amount of electricity bills for fiscal year ending March 2015 stood at Rs 5,692.40 crore, whereas for the year ended March 2016 it was Rs 6,430.90 crore, Khattar said.
In a reply to a question in the State Assembly, he said the outstanding amount jumped to Rs 6,623.07 crore as of May 2016.
Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said that at constant prices of 2011-12, the rate of growth of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) (of the state) was eight per cent during 2014-15 and 8.2 per cent during 2015-16.
He said that the Department of Economic and Statistical Analysis, Haryana compiles the estimates of GSDP of the state on annual basis as per the technical guidance and methodology suggested by the Central Statistics Office, New Delhi.
As per the Quick Estimates, the GSDP of the state at constant prices of 2011-12, has been estimated as Rs 3,66,584.10 crore for 2014-15 as against Rs 3,39,491.35 crore in 2013-14 recording the growth of eight per cent in 2014-15.
As per the Advance Estimates, the GSDP of the state was estimated to be Rs 3,96,642.67 crore with a growth of 8.2 per cent in 2015-16, Abhimanyu said.
Replying to a question, State Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar said that 'Parampragat Krishi Vikas Yojana' was being implemented in the state.
He informed that the scheme was launched by Union Ministry of Agriculture last year for the promotion of organic farming amongst the farmers of the states to increase the production of organic crops.
