Over 1,000 pirated new film cds seized, two held

Police today unearthed a pirated CD making unit in the city and arrested two persons in this connection.
Based on a tip off that cds of new films were being circulated, police raided a shop in Gandhipuram area and seized 1,044 pirated CDs of new films kept for distribution.
They also seized a CD writer, computer and a DVD and two persons--Shanmugam and Arjunan, present in the shop were arrested, police said.
After producing before a court, both were remanded to custody and lodged in the Central jail, they said.
