According to a report received from the district education office control room, 1,22,521 students in 904 government schools heard the speech live on TVs and 15,500 students in 453 schools listened to the speech on radios.
A teacher with Government Secondary School in Dalunda village here said over 200 students enthusiastically listened to the speech in his school.
"It was a tough task to arrange for the live telecast of the PM's speech for the students as the school has no TV," said the teacher, Ganesh Dutt Dadich.
Hemant Sharma, the head master of a government primary school in Kankara Rager Basti in Lekhari here, said he had arranged a radio for the live telecast of the speech.
The students along with their parents enjoyed the speech, he said.
Suman Sharma, a teacher in Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Vikasnagar here said the management had hired the equipment for the live telecast of the speech, which was heard by over 300 girls.
The PM's stress on girls' education and sanitation is encouraging for the students and parents, she said, adding Modi's initiative has greatly inspired the teenagers.
When asked whose speech was he listening to, 5th standard student of one the madarsas Ajjumuddin Ansari said, "We are listening to Modi sarkar (government)".
"Had we been informed properly, we would have made proper arrangements for telecast of the PM's speech live," said Haji Hashmatulha, President of the Madarsa Hanfiya Isslahul Musslamen Committee.
