The marathon was met with great response as nearly 5000 runners participated in the competition, organised by the Chandigarh administration.
Vinod Kumar took home a cash prize of Rs one lakh.
Former India sprinter Milkha Singh, was also present at the flag off ceremony.
The runners had a pleasant experience after last night drizzle in the city.
Sunita from Hyderabad, who has participated in 15 marathons, was given a special consolation prize.
