"An amount of Rs 7,52,18,440 has been released towards cooking costs under mid-day meal scheme for primary and upper primary classes of government-aided schools for the 2014-15 financial year," said a senior education department official.
At present, there are 95,182 students studying in primary and upper primary classes at government-aided schools in the national capital.
According to the government, central district, which has 20,261 students in government-aided schools, received the biggest chunk of the fund allocation among the districts.
"South Delhi schools received more than Rs 1.14 crore under the scheme," he said, adding that over Rs 98 lakh was given to the New Delhi district where 13,299 students are studying in government-aided schools.
The north-east district, with 5,483 students, got over Rs 44 lakh.
The official added that the east district received over Rs 34 lakh followed by North-West A district (Rs 31,63,428.48), North-West B (Rs 13,48,694.88), West-A (Rs 38,54,379.36), West-B (24,37,150.08), South-West A (Rs 58,04,582.88).
