The top Pakistani diplomat yesterday met the Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and other senior US government officials.
"They discussed the relationship between the US and Pakistan, which is based on a broad range of shared interests, including a commitment to defeat all terrorist groups that threaten regional stability and security, and a desire to build economic and commercial ties that benefit both countries, a State Department Spokesperson told PTI.
During her meeting with US officials, Janjua said she apprised them of Pakistan's concern over the border management and the existence of safe havens in Afghanistan being used by terrorists against Pakistan.
Janjua's visit comes at a time of fresh strain in ties between Islamabad and Washington after the US successfully moved the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to place Pakistan on the global terror financing watch-list.
