The Corps Commander Conference held in army headquarters, Rawalpindi, was presided over by army chief General Raheel Sharif.
All corps commanders and principal staff officers were in attendance.
"The participants were given detailed briefing on operation Zarb-e-Azb and the overall security situation," an army spokesman said in a statement.
It was decided that the terrorists will not be allowed to regroup and return to these areas and will not be given any space across the country.
He emphasised on the need to consolidate operational gains made so far which he hoped will also be backed up by long term counter terrorism and counter extremism measures by the concerned stake holders.
Recounting the sacrifices made and cooperation extended by brave tribesmen in fight against terrorism, General Sharif directed that no stone be left unturned to assist the displaced people during their stay outside and in their early return to their homes.
The meeting was held just days ahead of major protests by opposition parties on Thursday.
Pakistan has a history of military takeovers.
However, the military spokesman did not say anything about the developing political situation in the country.
