The State Level Permission Committee (SLPC) will inspect the two venues of popular electronic dance music (EDM) festivals to be held simultaneously in the state.
'Sunburn' and 'Supersonic', two popular EDM festivals, are scheduled to be held at Vagator and Candolim between December 27-30.
Superintendent of Police (North) Umesh Gaonkar said police have already submitted their findings about holding both the festivals in same belt on same dates. The report says holding these two big events in north Goa might cause traffic and security problems, among others.
"We are waiting for the decision of the government-appointed committee in this regard," he said.
State Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar had said the state will allow both the events to happen.
However, the SLPC, which is the authority to allow any tourism-related events in this coastal state, has decided to give their report only after conducting final inspection on December 24.
"The first inspection of both the venues will take place on December 21, followed by the second and final round on December 24," State Tourism Director Sanjeev Dessai said.
The Tourism Department has suggested to the organisers of both the events suggested certain changes at the venue considering security, fire and traffic issues.
Dessai said both the organisers have been asked to submit their revised plans, which would be considered by SLPC.
Thousands of music revellers visit the state during the year end to participate in these popular annual events.
