Pay Commission for government employees in Kerala

Kerala cabinet today decided to set up a pay commission to revise the salary and allowances of state government employees.
A panel led by Justice C N Ramachandran Nair (retired) has been appointed to submit a report after reviewing the pay revision of government employees, State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters after a cabinet meeting here.
Advocate T V George and retired finance additional secretary K V Thomas are also members of the panel.
Cabinet decided to set up a permanent commission to look into financial backwardness of people belonging to the forward class and suggest welfare measures, he said.
Replying to a question of National Highway development in the state, he said market price would be given for the land acquired for national highway.
An amount of Rs 6.5 crore has been granted for the construction of a 100-bed super speciality tribal hospital at Kottathara in Attappady, he said.
Taking serious view of water stagnating during rains in the state capital of Thiruvanathapuram, he said Rs 27 crore has been earmarked for solving water-logging problem in Thampanoor Central Railway station area.
The Kerala State Road Fund Board will undertake the construction work, which is expected to be completed by May next, he added.
