Accusing the Akhilesh Yadav led government of failing to control the situation at Muzaffarnagar, Union minister Jitin Prasada today said people of Uttar Pradesh have lost faith in the SP dispensation.
Due to the failure of the Samajwadi Party government on all fronts, people in Uttar Pradesh were in favour of imposition of President's rule in the state, the Minister of State for Human Resource Development told PTI.
The communal violence appears to be an attempt by the Samajwadi Party to polarise the vote bank, he said here.
The riots have pushed Uttar Pradesh back by 20 years, the Union Minister said.
While other states are on path of progress, it is depressing to see communal clashes in UP, Prasada said.
There was complete lawlessness in the state as minister and officials have created an unhealthy environment, he said adding, as a result the Central funds for public welfare were being "misused".
