A PIL challenging the appointment of H K Sharan as Indirect Tax Ombudsman was today filed before the Delhi High Court on the ground there was a vigilance inquiry report against him.
In the petition filed through counsel Prashant Bhushan, petitioner R K Jain, who claimed to be a whistle blower, Sharan was not eligible to get appointed to the post of Ombudsman (Lokpal).
In October last year, the Ministry of Finance had appointed Sharan as Indirect Tax Ombudsman (Lokpal) in Mumbai.
The court fixed April 8 for hearing of the case.
