PIL on alleged irregularities in constable recruitment in UP

The Allahabad High Court today directed Uttar Pradesh government to respond within a week on a PIL alleging irregularities in police constables recruitment process.
Justice Devendra Kumar Arora passed the order on a writ petition filed by 31 applicants challenging the selection process.
The petitioners sought a direction to quash the selection process of constable recruitment in UP.
According to the petitioners' counsel Vivek Pandey, a total 41,610 posts of constables were advertised in year 2013 and after examination result was declared on March 19, 2015.
He alleged that several selected applicants were only from Etawah and Manpuri districts.
It was further alleged that in the selection process, irregularities were committed on a large scale.

On the other hand, the state government counsel prayed for and was granted a week time by the court to seek instructions in the matter for placing its response.
The court directed to list thes matter thereafter.
