A division bench of Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice V M Pancholi issued notices to the secretary of state home department and commandant general of Home Guards, seeking replies by April 18.
Petitioner Pravin Sarvaiya, a Home Guards jawan, contended through his lawyer Vijay Nangesh that a government resolution of September 2012 has fixed the daily wage of a jawan at just Rs 200 per day.
This was even less than the minimum wage of Rs 300-315 per day fixed by the government, he said, praying that the court should set aside the resolution.
