Responding to a question on his dismissal from the job, the former inspector-in-charge of Pipili police station said actions against him were taken without giving him an opportunity to defend himself.
No senior police officer of Puri district, including the then SP, or even the crime branch officials had asked him anything about the incident, Champatiray told the Commission.
"It is not correct that the victim's father had come to the police station on November 29, 2011, to lodge a verbal complaint about the incident and I suggested him to file a written complaint the next day," Champatiray said.
The cross examination of the dismissed police officer however, remained inconclusive today and the Commission adjourned the matter to February 28.
