Police have foiled three bids to smuggle bovines and rescued 140 animals in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said Wednesday.
Police teams intercepted a total of six trucks at Nashri, Chanderkote and Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Tuesday evening, he said.
Three bovines smugglers were arrested and the trucks were seized, the official said, adding that separate cases were registered against the three accused persons.
Those arrested have been identified as Anwar Ali, Munshi Khan of Jammu and Mohd Asdullah of Anantnag in south Kashmir, he added.
