The SP also announced that a reward of Rs 1 lakh would be given to any individual providing credible information leading to the arrest of the accused.
"A reward of Rs 1 lakh would be given to anyone who will give correct and relevant information," he said.
An 71-year-old nun was allegedly gangraped by dacoits at Gangnapur in Nadia district early today, triggering protests and blockades of roads and railway tracks even as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered a CID probe into the incident.
According to authorities at a convent school in Ranaghat sub-division, the gang broke into the convent after 12:30 AM and three-four of them raped the woman after gagging her.
The gang also decamped with Rs 12 lakh which was kept in the almirah locker.
