Pakistani MP Abdus Sattar had arrived here on Sunday evening and after meeting a member of erstwhile royal family and others, he was scheduled to leave for Wagah border yesterday, police said.
His route included Naachna area for which visitors are required to take separate permission from Jaisalmer district administration and the same was communicated to him, SHO Naachna, Gautam Dodasara, said today.
"The MP said he had special visa and need not obtain separate permission anywhere," the SHO said.
However, the MP did not enter the area and took another route to leave the district in order to reach Wagah border, Naachna said, adding there was no violation.
District Collector Shuchi Tyagi said she has sought a report from the police.
Sattar was member of a delegation of Pakistani MPs that arrived in India recently as part of confidence building measures with Pakistan.
