Two senior IPS officers
today joined for duty, a day after the state government gave them an ultimatum, an official at the office of the State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said here.
Senior IPS officers, DGP Rishi Raj Singh and DGP Loknath
Behera took charge as Director of Prisons and Fire and Rescue Services respectively, the official said.
The officers had gone on leave and abstained from taking
charge after they were transferred from the post they held earlier in a recent reshuffle.

Justifying the recent postings of DGP Rishiraj Singh as
Prison Director and DGP Loknath Behera as Director of Fire and Rescue Service, Chennithala had said transfers were made as per service rules and there was nothing unprecedented in it.
Chennithala had also made it clear that "no officer can dictate to government that he or she should be given a particular post."
It was reported that Singh and Behera had gone on leave as they were not happy with their new postings.
The opposition alleged that the police force was in disarray resulting in administrative stalemate in the force.
