Poor students appeal for relaxing Rs 45,000 for counselling

They have cracked the prestigious JEE-Advance overcoming poverty but a large number of students of famed Super 30 are still a worried lot.
Sujeet Kumar, Dhananjay Kumar, Prempal Kumar and Sharwan Kumar are among a bunch of students of Super 30 being worried.
They have cracked JEE-Advance, but do not have the money to appear for counselling, which requires submission of challan worth Rs 45,000.
Super 30 founder and mathematician Anand Kumar said though the banks had agreed to provide loan, they would not offer them Rs 45,000 in cash for challan.
"The problem is that though the IIT has reduced to the counselling fee from Rs 60,000 to Rs 45,000, it now asks for submission of fee through challan, which would require cash," he said in a statement.

Kumar said, for the poor students arranging cash Rs 45,000 was not easy and the IIT should give them some relaxation.
"The bank are ready to pay the fee, including the admission fee. This time, they are ready to pay the counselling fee also, but they cannot give cash for challan," he said highlighting the woes of his students.
Like previous years, this year also Super 30 students performed admirably, with 25 of the 30 students making it to JEE-Advance. All of the students are from underprivileged sections of the society.
