Prez accepts resignation of Justice Jain as head of Law Commn

The resignation of Justice D K Jain as Chairman of the Law Commission has been accepted by the President.
Justice Jain has taken over as the President, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, an official statement said here.
Following the resignation of Justice Jain, a search for a new person to chair the Commission has begun.
He had taken over as the Chairman of the panel, which advices government on complex legal issues, in January this year.
Against the backdrop of various pathbreaking judgements by the Supreme Court on electoral reforms, the Commission is examining the issue.
It had recently floated a consultation paper inviting suggestions on electoral reforms, including criminalisation and paid news.
