In his message to President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the eve of the country's Independence Day, Mukherjee said "On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend to you and to the people of Kazakhstan warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence."
He said under the wise leadership of Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan has made "impressive" progress in all spheres during the last 25 years.
"I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for Your Excellency's well-being and success and for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Kazakhstan," he added.
Kazakhstan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
