Talking to PTI after the conclusion of the divisional rally of Aghadi office bearers at Town Hall here today evening, Deshpande charged the Maharashtra state government of adopting the Act as it is, though the Centre had given it the opportunity to suggest changes to it.
Alleging that provisions in the Act are detrimental to teachers, Deshpande said that the Maharashtra government has not followed rules and regulations while implementing the Act.
"Does it mean that if the number is less than 30, there would be no teacher" Deshpande asked.
"This is not fair," he said and warned about moving a non-governmental Bill if changes suggested by him on behalf of his organisation are not accepted.
"I will table this Bill next week," he said.
