The controversies surrounding the institution had come to cause concern to the people of the Union Territory, Secretary of the Federation of People's Rights, G Sugumaran who led the delegation said in a release.
The recent incidents of suicide by two of the five sisters evicted from the Ashram with their mother following their eviction from the Ashram have triggered the demand for a speedy probe into the incidents by a retired judge of Madras High court, he said.
Sugumaran said the Chief Minister assured the delegates that necessary steps would be taken to look into their pleas.
The delegation comprised representatives of Puducherry unit of the MDMK, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and Students Federation of Puducherry.
