Punjab committed to fill vacant posts in medical colleges: Min

Punjab government today said it is committed to fill all vacant post in different teaching faculties in government medical colleges to provide hassle- free health education and services.
Teaching faculty posts have been created in the government medical colleges to start new super speciality departments of Cardiology, Neurology, Urology and Neuro Surgery, state Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Joshi said.
Medical education department has approved the proposal to sponsor Assistant Professors or Punjab Civil Medical Service (PCMS) doctors working in government medical colleges of the state to pursue DM or MCH courses from government and recognised advanced medical organisation of the country.
He said only those Assistant Professors would be sponsored, who still have 15 years left for his or her superannuation from the date of completion of the course.
Similarly, PCMS doctors would be given sponsorship for course only if they have completed their probation period and who still have 15 years left for his or her superannuation from the date of completion of the course.
Joshi said after the completion of the course, doctors have to fulfil the condition of serving Punjab government for 15 years or pay the bond of Rs 80 lakhs before joining the course.
Minister further said duration of 3 years of course would be treated as duty and other allowances would also be paid.
