Addressing reporters here, the convenor of the PWF and CPI Puducherry State committee, R Viswanathan alleged that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had been gagging the voice of the progressive minded student outfits.
"Filing sedition case against the president of JNU students union is highly objectionable and the case should be withdrawn immediately," he said.

Hitting out at the Rangasamy-led AINRC government in Puducherry, he claimed it was no better than the previous Congress regime and was ignoring the welfare of the people.
"Healthy fiscal planning is totally absent in Puducherry," he said.
The leaders and cadres of PWF would launch 'meet the people' programme in the Union Territory for 11 days from February 19, he said.
He said once the election schedule was announced for the Assembly polls, the PWF would decide seat sharing among the constituents.
