Extending a welcome to the Qatari dhow for successfully completing the Doha-Mumbai voyage of 1522 nautical miles, the Governor said the visit had revived the cultural and historical ties between the port cities of Mumbai and Doha.
"India has had close relations with Qatar dating back to several centuries. Qatar is home to 600,000 Indians who are contributing to the socio-economic progress and development of Qatar," the Governor said.
Mentioning that India has emerged as a major economic power in the world, the Governor called for further advancing the economic and strategic relations between the two countries.
