"I invite business to help us unleash entrepreneurship and jobs...I have come here because I want to forge a partnership with you, a long term partnership to take this country forward. Let us work together to build this brave new empowered India", Gandhi said while addressing industry leaders at the CII annual meet here.
The 42-year old leader, who was recently appointed as Vice-President of Congress and is seen as the next Prime Ministerial candidate of the party, said India is "thirsting" for a visionary partnership.
At a time when government expects half of the USD one trillion requirement for infrastructure to come from private sector, Gandhi asked the industry to invest in the sector.
"We have to provide electricity to the children to light up their future. Government cannot build this infrastructure alone. We are incapable of doing it alone.
"We need your help. It has to be built jointly and together we will find the model," he said adding that on its part, the government will provide a fair and rule based stable environment for entrepreneurs, both large and small.
He further said India has grown faster under the Congress led UPA government.
Stressing on inclusive growth, Gandhi said "our economic vision must be about more than money...We must envision the future for India that leaves no man or woman outside in the shadow".
