Stating this here today, state Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa said the immediate challenge before the party was the local bodies election for which Gandhi would invite suggestions from leaders at various levels to chalk out the strategy to confront Akali Dal-BJP coalition.
Gandhi's meeting with block and district presidents would start on Thursday morning and be an open house discussion as these grass root leaders will get an opportunity to have free and frank discussion about measures to strengthen the party, Bajwa said.
In the afternoon, there would be an hour-long meeting with the members of the PPCC, MPs, MLAs and heads of the frontal organisations of the party's state unit.
Gandhi would get a first-hand account of the problems of the farming community in the state at a meeting with farmer's wing representatives, Bajwa informed.
