Rainfall continued in Uttarakhand as light to moderate showers lashed most parts of the state today, hampering the repairing work on many key routes, which remained blocked at many places due to landslips.
Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre said major highways, including the Badrinath highway, remained closed near Narayanbagad for yet another day, affecting supplies to many places in Chamoli district.
In Rudraprayag, NH-109 remained closed at Semi and repair work was hampered due to intermittent rains, it said, adding that the Border Roads Organisation is working constantly to remove debris from the roads.
However, no major incident was reported from any part of the state, it said.
The flood-ravaged state continued to be lashed by rains today, with reports of light to moderate showers from many places.
Dehradun was drenched by heavy showers for the second consecutive day today.
The capital registered 32 mm rainfall in the day, followed by Mussoorie 28 mm, Badkot 26 mm, Dumda 23 mm and Uttarkashi 15 mm, the MeT department said.
It had rained heavily in Dehradun, with the city receiving 104 mm of showers till this morning, the Met department said.
According to its forecast, similar weather condition is likely to prevail in the state during the next 24 hours, with possibility of rather heavy to heavy rainfall in some places including Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri and Uttarkashi districts.
