The national capital got a respite from a long spell of heat and humid condition after rains drenched many parts of the city today.
Delhi received 32.8 mm rainfall.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28 deg C.
Humidity level hovered between 69 and 95 per cent.
Moderate to heavy showers lashed several parts of UP where major rivers were in spate.
The Central Water Commission said major rivers were flowing above the red mark at a number of places in the state.
The Ganga river was flowing close to the danger mark from Fatehgarh to Kanpur and Sharda above the red mark at Palia Kalan, it said.
The Ghaghra river was rising menacingly at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia.
Meanwhile, several parts of Himachal Pradesh were also lashed by rains as monsoon remained active in the state.
Various parts of Punjab and Haryana were also lashed by rains resulting in a dip in mercury.
Patiala in Punjab recorded maximum rainfall in the region at 149 mm where maximum settled at 33.5 deg C, Met office said here today.
Amritsar had a rainfall of 7.6 mm with mercury at 34.4 deg C while industrial city of Ludhiana had a maximum of 33.4 deg C.
In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal received rainfall of 87.6 mm and 72.6 mm while maximum was recorded at 32.6 deg C and 34 deg C respectively.
