Chandigarh received maximum rainfall of 102.8 mm while maximum temperature settled at 28.2 deg C, down by five notches below normal, MeT department said here.
Among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala received 14.4 mm and 22.4 mm rains with mercury settling at 28.4 deg C and 29.4 deg C respectively, four degrees below normal.
Amritsar recorded a high of 31.6 deg C, down by two notches below normal.
In Haryana, Ambala was drenched with 68.8 mm while its temperature was recorded at 27.8 deg C, down by five degrees below normal.
A MeT department forecast said moderate to heavy rains may lash many places of Punjab and Haryana.
