Rawat reviews law and order situation

Amid an uproar over the rape and murder of a minor girl, Chief Minister Harish Rawat today held a meeting with senior police officials to review law and order situation of the state and asked them to leave no stone unturned in nabbing criminals.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said the police force needs to improve its working style, according to an official release.
Rawat said Uttarakhand is gradually being seen as a soft state and this image needs to be changed.
He said importance should be given to intelligence and there should be coordination between police and administration, the release said.

Rawat said taking into account the role played by technology in arresting criminals, cyber police stations should be opened in the state.
Terming the recent criminal incidents in the state as grave, the Chief Minister said the accused should be arrested soon.
No stone should be left unturned in arresting the criminals, he said.
He said strict action should be taken against any official found negligent in performing duty.
