Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met leaders of six regional countries attending the SAARC Summit in Kathmandu and discussed bilateral and regional issues, the Foreign Office said here today.
The Foreign Office issued a statement giving details of the meeting but it did not mention Sharif's brief interaction and handshake with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It said Sharif met presidents of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, prime ministers of Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan on the sidelines of the summit.
Pakistan would host the next SAARC Summit in Islamabad. Exact dates would be finalised later.
As the next host of the summit, Sharif presented a vote of thanks on behalf of all SAARC leaders.
