Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat will soon set out on a 'Jansampark Yatra' to interact directly with people and get a feedback straight from them on the progress of development projects.
Rawat, who completes two years in office on February 2 next year, will visit the remotest parts of the state during the feedback campaign and interact with people to learn about their problems, Chief Minister's Media Incharge Surendra Kumar said today.
The yatra is basically aimed at getting a feedback straight from people on how development projects launched by the state government are being implemented and have been performing under his leadership and in what ways the public delivery system can be improved, he said.
To be held in six phases the yatra will cover all parts of Uttarakhand including the remotest ones, he said.
In the first phase, the Chief Minister will cover the stretch between Marchula and Dharchula, the constituency Rawat represents in the state Assembly.
He will go from Marchula to Tadikhet on the first day, from Ranikhet to Kausan via Gagas on the second day, from Kausani to Bageshwar on the third, from Bageshwar to Thal on the fourth and from Thal to Dharchula on the fifth day to review the progress of development projects at the ground level, Kumar said.
In the second phase, the Chief Minister will conduct his contact people campaign at places between Khedi Sikohpur and Balawala.
He will go from Khedi Sikohpur to Roorkee on the first day, from Roorkee to Luksar via Khadar on the second day and from Luksar to Balawala via Khanpur on the third day to meet people, learn about their problems and also examine the way development projects were being implemented in these areas, the CM's Media Incharge said.
Places between Devprayag and Ghat via Nandprayag will be covered by the Chief Minister in the third phase.
He will go from Devprayag to Rudraprayag on the first day, from Rudraprayag to Kaleshwar on the second day and from Kaleshwar to Ghat via Nandprayag on the third.
The stretch between Jaspur to Tanakpur will be taken up in the fourth phase which will see the Chief Minister going from Jaspur to Bajpur to Kichcha and Tanakpur, Kumar said.
In the fifth phase, the Chief Minister will cover the area between Vikasnagar and Chamba.
From Vikasnagar to Purola on the first day, from Purola to Uttarkashi on the second day and from Uttarkashi to Chamba on the third, Kumar said.
Areas to be covered in the sixth phase are Kotdwar, Pauri, Paithani, Baijro, Beeronkhal, Dhumakote and Nainidanda, Kumar said, adding the dates for the elaborate campaign are being finalised as Rawat has to conclude it before February 2.
