The agitation came a day after the contractual teachers gheraoed District Education Offices (DEOs) across the state.
"We had suspended the agitation on December 2 after the School and Mass Education minister assured us to reappoint the retrenched teachers by December second. However, the government failed to meet the deadline," said an agitating teacher.
The association also announced that the teachers would launch a hunger strike from tomorrow.
School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra had assured that a decision with regard to reappointment of retrenched contract teachers would be taken by the second week of December to sort out the issue.
As the state government was yet to take a decision with regard to reappointment of contractual teachers, the association decided to intensify its stir, an association spokesman said.
