At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in January month was trading higher by Rs 20, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 4,875 per quintal with an open interest of 6,590 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in far-month April contracts edged up by Rs 3, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 4,434 per quintal in 20,860 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
