Trains delays have been reported the most on Mughalsarai- Allahabad-Kanpur-Ghaziabad-Delhi sector of Allahabad division which is facing severe capacity constraints with line capacity utilisation standing at 150 per cent, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said in a written reply.

This sector connects north India with the rest of the country and deals with not only passenger traffic but also freight traffic including coal, petroleum products, raw materials, food grains, fertiliser, steel and export/import oriented container traffic.
He said a number of steps has been taken to improve punctuality of Mail/Express trains on this route. The punctuality position in North Central Zone has gone up to almost 50 per cent in February 2016 from 42 per cent earlier.
