According to police, the complainants have said they were on their way to the bank to deposit cash in the morning when four motorbike-borne unidentified persons intercepted them.
After waylaying the duo outside the bank, one of the alleged robbers kicked the employee who was holding the cash bag. Then, snatching the bag containing the money, they fled as one of the robbers fired a round in the air to scare people away, they added.
Police have registered a case of robbery and formed around 17 teams to trace the accused. They claimed to have obtained crucial leads from CCTV grabs and have zeroed in on a few suspects, the official added.
