The duo identified as Manoj Paswan and Ranjeet Yadav, of Pokhriya, were travelling in an SUV from Bettiah to Bagaha, when they were stopped at a check-post under Chautarwa police station in West Champaran district, by a magistrate on poll duty, Chautarwa police station in-charge Manoranjan Chaudhary said.
"They could not provide satisfactory answer about the Rs 27.5 lakh cash they were carrying following which we arrested them and the car was seized as well," Chaudhury said.
Checking of vehicles is being conducted across the state on the Election Commission's directives to stop the movement of money, liquor and firearms to disrupt free and fair elections.
