Rajasthan has spent Rs 4,430 crore under the MGRENGA in the running financial year, Panchayati Raj Minister of Rajasthan Rajendra Rathore said today.
Replying to a question during the Question Hour, the minister said the state ranks fourth in the country in payment to labourers.
He said there were only five Gram Panchayats in the state where no work under the MGNREGA was taken up in the current fiscal year.
He said 2.96 lakh families in the state were given jobs for 100 days under the scheme and added that 97 per cent labourers were getting wages in their bank accounts.
In his reply to a question by BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari, Rathore said slow server speed, lack of employees, incorrect details of several labourers' accounts were among the reasons for delay in payments of wages under the MGNREGA.
The minister also said there was no provision for linking the scheme with farm labour.
In reply to another question, Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini said the farmers running green and poly-houses will get additional grant of up to Rs 12 lakh.
He said from the next financial year, the subsidy amount will be transferred to farmers' bank account directly.
Currently, the subsidy is given to empanelled firms which set up greenhouses for farmers.
