Rs 5.40 lakh looted

Armed miscreants today looted Rs 5.40 lakhs from a confectionary trader near Madnani street in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, a senior police official said.
The incident took place under Mithunpura police station area when the owner of a confectionary Sharad Sharma accompanied by an employee Kanhai was on way to deposit Rs 5.40 lakh at a bank, Senior Superitendent of Police(SSP) Ranjit Mishra said.
Four miscreants on two motorcycles waylaid them. They looted the money at gun point and fled away after snatching the bag containing Rs 5.40 lakh, SSP added.
Efforts are on to nab the culprits, the SSP added.
