An announcement to this effect was made in the state legislative assembly by Minister of State for Housing Sachin Ahir, while replying to a calling attention notice by BJP MLA Devendra Fadnavis and MNS legislator Bala Nandgaonkar.
There are over 13,000 cessed buildings in the city and for the past 27 years but there has been no decision about redevelopment of these buildings.
"The property owners' association have approached the court against the redevelopment policy," Ahir said, adding the government plans to amend the Housing Act to enable long-pending redevelopment of these old buildings.
