Sait Nagjee football tourney to be held in April-May next year

Eight teams, including six from abroad, would be vying for honours in the 36th Sait Nagjee Amrsee Memorial International Club Football tournament to be held at the Corporation E M S Stadium here during April-May, next year.
Speaking to reporters here today, A Pradeepkumar, President Kozhikode District Football Association, said teams from countries -- Iran, Iraq, Korea, Syria, UAE and Nepal, besides two national teams, would be seen in action during the 17-day tournament.
The tournament, which was started in 1952, was stopped in 1995 due to various reasons, he said.
JCT football club was the winner of the tournament in 1995, he said.
The conduct of the tourney is estimated to cost Rs 4 crore.
