SCs run 11.41 pc business establishments in Delhi

Members of SC community own 11.41 per cent of total 7,95,971 proprietary establishments in the national capital while STs control 2.59 per cent and OBCs 15.98 per cent, according to the sixth economic census of Delhi.
A total of 70.03 per cent establishments is owned by the category termed as 'others'.
Most of proprietary establishments are engaged in retail trade activity, stated the report prepared on the basis of data collected during February-June, 2013.
Among those involved in agricultural activities, 512 owners are SCs, 138 are STs and 2,442 are OBCs while 3,529 fall in 'Others' category.
As many as 90,282 owners from SC category, 20,480 from ST, 1,24,715 OBC and 5,53,873 from 'Others' category are involved in non-agricultural activities like mining and quarrying, manufacturing, water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, wholesale trade, real estate activities, professional, scientific & technical activities etc.

The report states that 15,441 persons are employed in the agricultural sector and 23,16,531 in non-agricultural activities in the city.
