Security agencies trying to trace origin of hate posts: Shinde

"Whatever we are doing, be it Facebook or SMSes, we have got much information. All of this is under investigation," he told reporters here.

He was replying to a question on the action taken by the government after finding that many morphed images and videos aimed at inciting people in India were uploaded in Pakistan.

Asked about the proof of the neighbouring country's involvement, Shinde said, "Nobody knows from where we got the proof and we will not tell anybody where we got the proof from."

On Saturday, Union Home Secretary R K Singh had said that bulk of the rumours that triggered panic among people of northeastern states in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra were sourced from Pakistan.
