"Police in the city have been sensitised following the terrorist attack in Dhaka," a senior Kolkata Police officer told PTI.
He, however, said no alert has been sounded in the city. "Our force is always alert and there is no system to issue high alert. We have sensitised the policemen and they are extra cautious now."
Security checks at various entry/exit points of the city were increased and every vehicle is being examined.
"This is being done not because of the terror attack in Bangladesh but as always, we are keeping a close watch on everything in and around the city to avoid any untoward incident," he said.
