Security forces defuse five landmines, seize explosives

Security forces have defused five landmines and recovered a large quanity of explosives from a Maoist hideout in Hudhudwa forest in Bihar's Nawada district, a police officer said today.
Carrying out a combing operation against the Maoists ahead of the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) elections in Nawada district, the security forces defused five landmines planted by the ultras in Hudhudwa forests yesterday, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Parvez Akhtar said.
They also seized 40 meter cottage wire, 30 meter fuse wire, five detonators, five pressure switch, besides large quantity of naxal literature, from the spot, he said.
No arrest has been made in this connection, Akhtar said.
